ABOUT NEW ZEALAND:

New Zealand, is spectacularly beautiful with its lush green farmlands, barren and active volcanic desert areas, beaches with crystal clear blue water, glorious snow-capped mountains, and unique wildlife. Movies like The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit have been filmed in various locations in New Zealand. 

Its capital Wellington and other major cities like Auckland and Christchurch are a few of the most popular cities of the country. It mostly has temperatures that can vary from being cold to warm due to a strong oceanic influence. But, due to its extremely diverse topography, microclimates can be found across the country.

 

EDUCATION SYSTEM IN NEW ZEALAND:

New Zealand is one of the best destinations in terms of quality and cost of study as well as living in comparison to USA, UK, Canada, Australia or other European countries. New Zealand has beautiful climate, no crime, and lower cost of living. The students who choose to study in New Zealand can easily enjoy a more relaxed and comfortable lifestyle. NZ institutes and courses are accredited by the New Zealand Qualification Authority (NZQA, it is responsible for approving and registering all courses and national qualifications offered at universities, polytechnics / institute of technologies and private training establishments).

There are 10 levels of study in New Zealand schools and universities. The lowest level is a certificate course and the highest is a doctoral degree. A bachelor degree in New Zealand takes about 3 years, and students can get an Honours degree after completing their graduation which is another year of study.

  •        Level 5 and 6 - Diplomas
  •        Level 7 - Bachelor's degrees and graduate diplomas
  •        Level 8 - Postgraduate certificates and diplomas, and bachelor's degrees with honours.
  •        Level 9 - Master's degrees

An agreed set of criteria defines every qualification type. The criteria include: the level at which the qualification is listed the qualification purpose learning outcomes the number of credits required at each level Each of the different levels of each qualification type has a different purpose, outcomes, and credit requirements.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE:

For all undergraduate programs, the admission is based on the marks scored in HSC with IELTS or TOEFL. To get admission in Master Program valid university degrees once can apply to different universities. There are no application fees to apply. The admission application and document is easier than any other foreign countries.

 

TEST REQUIREMENT: 

Few institutes provide admissions based on IELTS equivalency test score.

Diploma / Advanced diploma - 5.5 Bands 

Bachelors program -  6.0 bands

Master  program -  6.5 Bands

 

ACCOMMODATION:

International students live on-campus in Halls of Residence, while others opt for a home stay with a local family, or live with friends in a rented flat /apartment / house. There are plenty of options available near all the institutes and university campuses. The student may select the type of accommodation as per need and budget.

 

ESTIMATED COST FOR STUDY:

Diploma / Advanced Diploma - $14,000 - $19,000 NZD per year 

Bachelors program -  $18,000 to $ 30,000 NZD per year

Masters program -  $19,000 to $ 32,000 NZD per year

 

JOB PROSPECTS:

All International students are allowed to work for 20 hours per week, during study sessions and full-time during vacations during their stay in New Zealand. It is the only country that provides a one year job search visa, regardless of the course pursued by a student.

PR or CITIZENSHIP:

During the Job search visa the international student may plan their work visa and then after as per the skilled occupation list they can plan the further stay.
